      • Pomeroy Method (Partial Salpingectomy): A small loop of the fallopian tube is tied off (ligated) and then the top of the loop is cut and removed. This is one of the most common methods, especially immediately following childbirth.
      • Parkland Method: Similar to the Pomeroy method, but the tube is tied in two separate places and the segment in between is cut out.
      • Tubal Clips (Filshie or Hulka Clips): A titanium or plastic clip is placed over the fallopian tube and clamped shut. This pinches the tube and cuts off the blood supply, causing scarring that blocks the passage.
      • Tubal Rings (Falope Rings): A small loop of the fallopian tube is pulled through a tight silicone band (ring). Like a rubber band, it restricts blood flow, creating a permanent scar that blocks the tube.
      • Bipolar Coagulation: An electrical current is used to burn (cauterize) small sections of the fallopian tubes. This damages the tissue and seals the tubes shut.
      • Monopolar Coagulation: Similar to bipolar, but the electrical current runs through the tube and exits through the body. This often burns a larger portion of the tube and sometimes involves cutting the tube after cauterization.
      • Complete Salpingectomy: This procedure involves completely removing both fallopian tubes rather than just blocking or cutting a section of them. This method is becoming increasingly common because it significantly lowers the risk of ovarian cancer, which often begins in the fallopian tubes.
      • Fimbriectomy: The removal of the fimbriae (the fringed, finger-like ends of the fallopian tubes closest to the ovaries) and a small portion of the tube itself.
      • Essure / Adiana: Small metal and fiber coils were inserted through the vagina and uterus directly into the fallopian tubes. Over a few months, scar tissue would form around the inserts, blocking the tubes. (Note: While still present in patients who previously underwent the procedure, devices like Essure are no longer manufactured or sold in the United States.)

  • BODY MASS INDEX (BMI)

    To ensure a safe and successful surgery, we require a BMI below 37. Your height and weight will be calculated on the day of surgery. If you your BMI is not below 37, the surgery will be cancelled and no refund will be issued. We have a strict BMI policy with no exception. 

     

    You may proceed with a full records review, but you will not be able to schedule a surgery date untill your BMI is below 37.

  • NATURAL FERTILITY

    If you do not have have a regular menstrual period you may have entered perimenopause stage OR may have a condition that may affect your fertility health, and could prevent you from getting pregnant naturally.

     

    FIRST STEP: Establish Natural Fertility Status

    We recommend that you visit your OBGYN to investigate why you are not having a regular monthly cycle, and to establish your natural fertility status before investing in tubal reversal surgery with the goal to conceive naturally.

  • HYSTERECTOMY

    A hysterectomy is a surgical procedure to remove all or part of the uterus. A tubal reversal and pregnancy is not possible.

     

  • COMPLETE SALPINGECTOMY

    During a tubal reversal surgery we connect the follopian tubes to restore fertility. If no tubes remain, a reversal is not possible. If you had a complete salpingectomy, it means that all tubes have been completely removed.

  • ENDOMETRIAL ABLATION

    Endometrial ablation is a minimally invasive procedure that destroys or removes the uterine lining (endometrium). Some patients may have significantly lighter or completely absent periods.

     

    FIRST STEP: Medical Records Review & Consultation

    If you had an endometrial ablation you will be required to schedule a consultation with our provider to establish if you are a good candidate for tubal reversal surgery.
